Geronimo Spring 2022

About Rising Stars

The Rising Stars Program, which is for 1st and 2nd grade girls, incorporates a clinic format with extensive gameplay to introduce lacrosse to beginners and enhance the established skills of more experienced players.

The focus will be on lacrosse fundamentals and elementary game strategy with an emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship.

No players will be allowed to "play up" a division. Players must play in their defined age group.

*The Rising Stars group typically begins in 1st grade.  Players who are in Kindergarten and meet the U.S. Lacrosse 6U age requirement are considered on a case-by-case basis.

The season will start at the end of spring break and run for 9 weeks.  Practices are on Saturday mornings from 10:30 - 12:00pm on fields 9-11.  One exception will be on VGF weekend.

Typical sessions will be 50-60% instructional and 40-50% gameplay.

Games will be played on a short field to increase touches and develop stick skills.
